We sell luxury confections, with something for everyone



Our line of confections is a comprehensive blend of everything ranging from gummies to cordials, cocktail candies, and chocolate bars.

One of our signature offerings is the Candy Bento Box ®, which boasts a curated assortment of our Candy Cubes ®. This patented packaging system allows for total customization in-store and online thanks to the “Design Your Own Bento Box ®” feature.

We sell both directly to consumers and to wholesale retailers like specialty grocers, online gifting platforms, and specialty gift shops.


THE BUSINESS MODEL


A diverse portfolio for a truly omnichannel positioning, approximately 50% of sales from DTC

We have diversified our business model to capture new distribution opportunities while broadening our reach. Our omnichannel approach takes in revenue from five main sources: 

Retail boutiques make up approximately 18.8% of our sales coming from 25 retail locations in North America.

Ecommerce represents over 34.1% of our sales and is our highest growth channel.


Wholesale provides 37.9% of our sales through over 2000 prestige wholesalers including accounts like Nordstrom ®, Bloomingdales ®, Paper Source ®, and high-end specialty grocers around the US and Canada.


Custom Corporate Gifting sales make up 6.8%, through over 1300 corporate and event clients.


International sales make up the remaining 2.4%, with a presence in Hong Kong, Australia, South Korea, Spain, and Japan.

Scott LaPorta • CEO and Board Member

Scott LaPorta is a proven senior executive with a record of driving outstanding performance within highly competitive and aspiration driven consumer businesses/brands including Levi Strauss, Hilton, Marriott, Bolthouse Farms, and most recently GT’s Kombucha. Scott provides strategic vision as well as the creative and disciplined operational leadership. He has successfully developed and commercialized under managed businesses into high growth enterprises while expanding margins and building capability. Mr. LaPorta has raised over $30 billion of capital and led or co-led over $10 billion of M&A activity as a CFO of operating companies in the hospitality, lodging, and casino industries. He has also led two IPO spin-off transactions. Scott took on a turnaround role at Levi Strauss that included leading strategy, planning, and restructuring and then ran three divisions of the company. Mr. LaPorta successfully led the commercialization, growth, and eventual sale of the Bolthouse Farms fresh food and beverage business at a category-leading exit multiple for a private equity firm. Sugarfina Acquires Candy Club

Dear Investors, 

I am thrilled to announce our acquisition of Candy Club, a moderately positioned confectionery brand known for its gourmet sweets with a nostalgic twist. The addition of Candy Club expands Sugarfina’s market presence, provides product diversification, and presents operational and financial synergies.

Founded in 2015 by Keith Cohn as a direct-to-consumer brand, Candy Club initially gained popularity with its subscription-based “Candy of the Month Club.”  In 2020, Candy Club launched its wholesale business, offering specialty market candies to third-party retailers. Today, Candy Club products can be found everywhere from neighborhood boutique shops and hotel resorts to name-brand national retailers.

Following our acquisition of luxury gifting company BOXFOX in October 2024, the merger with Candy Club marks another milestone in Sugarfina’s growth strategy. Bringing Candy Club into Sugarfina’s family of brands, we hope to expand our confectionery business in the moderate tier of the marketplace and develop the DTC business segment. I see you opened up a retail location in Boca Raton. If that is successful, then you might want to look into opening up a similar shop in Sausalito along Bridgeway (the road that hugs the coast) -- there are a few vacant attractive (and size-right) retail spaces available at the moment, and LOTS of tourists (and locals from Tiburon, Belvedere, Mill Valley, SF, etc.) who come through that area with the demographics and wallets that I suspect your brand will attract.

Hi, I invested into Sugarfina early when the Start Engine campaign started. I was looking through to get an update on my investment and see that the Unaudited estimated revenue for 2021 was 31M. I was wondering if you had an estimate, or exact number, for loss on 2021. I see the tremendous turnaround from 2019 - 2020 on decrease of loss I was wanting to see if that trend continued. Thanks!

With Regulation A+, a non-accredited investor can only invest a maximum of 10% of their annual income or 10% of their net worth per year, whichever is greater. There are no restrictions for accredited investors.

With Regulation Crowdfunding, non-accredited investors with an annual income or net worth less than $124,000 are limited to invest a maximum of 5% of the greater of those two amounts. For those with an annual income and net worth greater than $124,000, they are limited to investing 10% of the greater of the two amounts.

At the close of an offering, all investors whose funds have “cleared” by this time will be included in the disbursement. At this time, each investor will receive an email from StartEngine with their Countersigned Subscription Agreement, which will serve as their proof of purchase moving forward.

Please keep in mind that a company can conduct a series of “closes” or withdrawals of funds throughout the duration of the campaign. If you are included in that withdrawal period, you will be emailed your countersigned subscription agreement and proof of purchase immediately following that withdrawal.

StartEngine assists companies in raising capital, and once the offering is closed, we are no longer involved with whether the company chooses to list shares on a secondary market or what occurs thereafter. Therefore, StartEngine has no control or insight into your investment after the close of the live offering. In addition, we are not permitted to provide financial advice. You may want to contact a financial professional to discuss possible investment outcomes.

For Regulation Crowdfunding, investors are able to cancel their investment at any point throughout the campaign up until 48 hours before the closing of the offering. Note: If the company does a rolling close, they will post an update to their current investors, giving them the opportunity to cancel during this timeframe. If you do not cancel within this 5-day timeframe, your funds will be invested in the company, and you will no longer be able to cancel the investment. If your funds show as ‘Invested’ on your account dashboard, your investment can no longer be canceled.

For Regulation A+, StartEngine allows for a four-hour cancellation period. Once the four-hour window has passed, it is up to each company to set their own cancellation policy. You may find the company’s cancellation policy in the company’s offering circular.

Once your investment is canceled, there is a 10-day clearing period (from the date your investment was submitted). After your funds have cleared the bank, you will receive your refund within 10 business days.

Refunds that are made through ACH payments can take up to 10 business days to clear. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the bank, but we will do everything we can to get you your refund as soon as possible. However, every investment needs to go through the clearing process in order to be sent back to the account associated with the investment.

Both Title III (Regulation Crowdfunding) and Title IV (Reg A+) help entrepreneurs crowdfund capital investments from unaccredited and accredited investors. The differences between these regulations are related to the investor limitations, the differing amounts of money companies are permitted to raise, and differing disclosure and filing requirements.
