Company Description

My business is an osteria. We specialize in Italian culture, tradition, food, and products. We aim to provide people with an authentic Italian experience. Specializing in regional food, pizza, and wine. Our goal is to teach people about all the great traditions and history of Italy, one sip or bite at a time.

We offer specialty pizzas, bread, regional wines, and our own private label from grapes grown in California. Everything we do has history and tradition in mind. Our recipes and techniques all come from the Old World.

We want our customers to feel like they are back in time, to simpler times and simpler days.

We are raising $60,000 at a 9.0% interest rate, paid over a 36-month term.

Use of Proceeds

  • Credit cards: $20,000
  • Equipment, long term loans: $35,000

Once I am able to free myself from debt and start-up costs, I will be able to spend the extra income on projects for the shop and future growth. I have a lot of plans to expand and grow. At the moment I am held up due to extra monthly costs with credit cards and loans.

Management Team / Advisory Board Bios

I officially started my business in 2017, but it has been at work in my mind since I was 8 years old. I have had a passion for wine all of my life. I learned from my grandfather, and have great memories with him and my family. I knew I wanted a career in wine. When I got the chance to take it I didn't look back.

Following my senior season of college, I wasted no time in finding work. I applied for a job in New Zealand as a cellar assistant. It was my first professional experience in wine. After New Zealand, I moved to Italy, and finally to Napa Valley.

I lived and worked in Napa for nearly 4 years altogether, learning from some great winemakers that are world renown. I was able to start my own wine label while working in California and am excited to finally release it this year.

Besides Napa, I also spend nearly four years living and working in Italy. While in Italy I worked for various wineries, bakeries, restaurants, and received my master’s in winemaking.

My goal all along has been to connect all of my experiences and share them with my hometown, Youngstown, Ohio. After a lot of planning and allowing things to develop I was able to create a plan to do just that. While in Italy I came across many osterias. The concept is exactly what I want to bring to Youngstown. A place that serves wine to the locals along with simple food and provides a sense of community. It has been fun to build the osteria each step of the way. I look forward to what comes next. The possibilities are endless.

Security Description

Secured debt is debt backed or secured by collateral to reduce the risk associated with lending. If the borrower on a loan defaults on repayment, the debt holder can seize the collateral, sell it, and use the proceeds to pay back the debt. Assets backing debt or a debt instrument are considered as a form of security, which is why unsecured debt is considered a riskier investment than secured debt.
