Company Description
Capable of a 0 to 60 mph sprint in just over 5 seconds, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage Oscar India was the fastest accelerating production automobile in the world upon its introduction in 1978. Aston Martin built 291 Oscar India coupes between 1978 and 1986, only 64 of which left the factory in left-hand-drive configuration. Of those 64, only 3 were imported to North American in full “Vantage” spec; #82AV1 is one of those three cars.
Key Deal Facts
Benefitting from a full-restoration in 2016 at the hands of Aston Martin experts, Autosport Designs, #82AV1 presents in exceptional condition. As part of the restoration, #82AV1 received a color change to the factory available colors of Cumberland Grey over Tobacco interior. Delivered new to Canadian oil baron Mr. Jack Pierce, #82AV1 remained under the care of his family until 2015. The subsequent owner of the vehicle commissioned its restoration. #82AV1 has had a total of three owners from new and shows 74,975 km on the odometer.
Prices of Oscar Indias and comparable European-spec V8 Vantages have remained well into the six figures for the past ten years. Sale prices crossed the $200k threshold about five years ago and examples now routinely trade hands in the high-$200k to mid-$300k range. The high water mark was set by #82AV1 in 2016, when it traded hands at auction to its most recent owner for $357k.
