Company Description

In 1909, the American Tobacco Company began to include baseball cards with its cigarette packs as a promotional item. The T206 series included 524 players, 76 of whom would go on to be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Honus Wagner, widely considered to be the greatest player in baseball at that time, objected to the use of his image shortly after production began. As a result, the company only released around 60 copies of the card. Over one hundred years later, the scarcity and rich history of the T206 Honus Wagner has truly made it the “holy grail” of card collecting.

Key Deal Facts

Over the past century, the story and lore have become just as important as the card itself. No matter the condition, if a T206 Wagner is authentic, it commands huge prices.”
