Ollin Cafetzin

In Classic Nahuatl, Ollin Cafetzin translates to Movement Coffee. Ollin Cafetzin is a unique community gathering space in the Denver Metro Area that will operate as a Mesoamerican-Inspired coffee shop and Ethnic Studies Library. We offer a rich cultural experience by combining coffee sourced from Indigenous collectives in Latin America with an extensive collection of ethnic studies books. Our mission is to provide a welcoming space where people can engage in critical conversations about the world while savoring sustainably-sourced coffee. Our team of social workers, teachers, restorative justice, and youth counselors will collectively run the coffee shop, fostering a community-driven environment.

In the Mi Casa Resource Center's Spring 2022 business course, our business plan received the prestigious "Best Business Plan" award, validating our commitment to creating an inclusive space where culture and knowledge thrive., Our owner, Cynthia has led groups that received the “Best Student Organization” award at Central Washington University while one of the other co-founders has received the NEWSED Community Development Corporation’s Civil Rights Award in 2022.
