Industry Spotlight

  • The Single Location Full-Service Restaurant industry accounts for $169.2 billion in revenue as of 2018
  • Since 2013, the industry has seen a 3.7% growth, and is projected to continue positive growth into the 2020’s
  • Full-Service Restaurants tend to have low revenue volatility and high competition levels

THE OPPORTUNITY

Madear's is looking to expand our footprint in a new location to serve the demand of our customers. Madear's new location will feature:

  • 3,200 Square Feet
  • Accommodations for 70 people with Outdoor seating for an additional 30 people
  • An expanded kitchen allowing us to offer 15 different made-from-scratch bakery items
  • Space to host baking, cooking, and bartending classes
  • VIP space able to host a party of 12
  • Private parking with an adjacent lot holding 50 cars total
  • Easy access to Route 3

Business Model

Since July 2017, Madear’s has operated out of the store front location built by co-founders Robb & Kyle. We are looking to expand our footprint in a new location to serve the demand of customers, offer a wider range of products for sale, and attract new clientele.

We’re the only authentic Cajun restaurant in NH that serves traditional Louisiana food, in a safe, welcoming home for all to enjoy. Other places may have Cajun, creole or southern dishes on their menu; but our menu fills a void by providing a full Bayou experience - from classic cocktails, to our food and our warm hospitality.

Awards and notables

Madear's is not only beloved by our lovely guests, but also lauded by critics. Accolades include winning NH Magazine's Best of NH - Cajun Dishes (2019) and being ranked among the Top Restaurants in NH, by NH Magazine (2019). Just last year, Madear's was dubbed Top 5 New Restaurants - Hippo Press (2018). Madear's has also enjoyed features on NH Chronicle in November 2018, and Phantom Gourmet (coming soon!)

Madear's also enjoys being an active participant in the community!

  • March of Dimes Signature Chef's Auction (2018)
  • Boys & Girls Club Silent Auction (2017 & 2018)
  • Taste of Downtown (2017 & 2018)

Management Team / Advisory Board Bios

Kyle Davis
Owner/Baker/Chef
Chef Kyle Davis is one of New Hampshire’s own. Kyle was born and raised in Hudson, NH and is a proud graduate of Bishop Guertin High School in Nashua. A family man, he’s the father of two girls Sydney and Jules. With an engineering degree from Northeastern, Kyle worked 16 years with a private engineering firm where he had the honor of designing some of the City of Boston’s great public transportation stations such as Assembly Station and Orient Heights Station, to name a few. As a working father of two girls, Kyle used a lot of his free time perfecting his skills of baking from scratch for himself and his girls and teaching his younger daughter some of the baking traditions he grew up with in Hudson. His passion for baking never left. One would assume with the heritage of a Paquette name, he would be pushing for a French-Canadian bakery. But no; he, like his Grandmother Lillian Paquette, enjoy the greatness of all fresh baked goods. Kyle, as the proud Owner/Baker of Madear’s will be able to take southern favorite desserts and baked goods to a level that will make any New Englander happy and a Southerner feel at home.

Robb Curry
Owner/Mixologist/Chef
Originally from Baton Rouge, LA, Chef Robb has lived in New England since 2001. As a child, Robb – to his family known as “Slide” – always found himself on the apron strings of his paternal grandmother Martha “Madear” Sullivan. This is where Robb gets his strong passion to care for others through food.

Having worked in the restaurant industry throughout his college life, he decided his calling was not to maintain computer systems, but to bring that comfort and caring personality to every guest he touches through the food he cooks, the cocktails he creates, or the wine he recommends. Robb has worked in all parts of the restaurant from Dishwasher to Manager, and with many types of restaurants – mom and pop cafe’s, corporate chains, and privately owned restaurants, including 51 Lincoln and Waban Kitchen. Now combining over 20 years of experience and a lifetime of love, he opens Madear’s in Manchester, NH.
