Farthest Star Sake brewery and taproom will be the only one of its kind in New England. With fewer than 20 sake breweries in North America, our brewery and taproom will be on the frontier of sake brewing.
The brewery will launch with traditional filtered and cloudy sake styles available in the taproom, restaurants, and stores. The taproom will have a fun atmosphere and provide opportunities for engagement in the community, consumer education and events, and sampling experimental batches and lesser-known Japanese styles.
Farthest Star Sake is inspired by and holds to the following tenets: * We are product-centered and focused on delicious, local, fresh, sometimes-innovative sake. Companies that use marketing to drive brewing decisions falter; they are the opposite of us. * We support work-life balance—not just for owners, but for all employees. We all deserve a balanced life. * We are accessible and transparent. Consumers will have full access to the sake-brewing experience, including the mundane stuff. We will educate and lead by example. * We are open to education: always teaching and learning. We will start by making and introducing traditional styles released in bottles to educate the market, but will experiment and push boundaries in the taproom to encourage visitors and ourselves. * We will keep one eye toward the past (traditional styles first) and the other eye toward the future (experimental and local ingredients). * Our work will be fun, because, if we work in the alcohol industry and aren't having fun, we’re doing it wrong.
