Any registered user can produce perfectly formatted news stories, feature stories, reviews, opinion pieces, memoir pieces and more. And while the majority of content is provided by members, citizen editors curate, monitor, and even edit when needed or wanted to produce the most comprehensive and engaging coverage.

IMBY is built on a scalable, multi-functional platform with custom software, which provides a practical solution to the devastating loss and contraction of local news sources across the country., The network has grown to 32 community sites in four counties — Columbia, Greene and Dutchess in New York and Berkshire in Massachusetts, and with the right resources, can grow exponentially., Our singular brand of citizen journalism is unique among local news sources. Thus far, IMBY has helped citizens with good causes in many communities use citizen journalism as citizen activism.
