Company Description
Alexa's unique culinary style showcases her experiences and culture, centering her Pacific Northwest tribes with an added flair from the Hopi of the Southwest. All of her dishes feature Indigenous first foods and non-colonial ingredients, with produce and wild game that can be found on Turtle Island, as well as powwow comfort food items she enjoyed as a child (like her frybread). In just the first year, Javelina has received critical acclaim both locally and nationwide. Her cuisine tells a larger story centered around the perseverance of indigenous food, the struggle of the indigenous population displaced from their ancestral lands. Alexa's food is medicine, not only delicious by incredibly nurturing as it heals the mind, body and soul. She wants to help her community eat better and educate guests about what North American Cuisine should be.
