Cleon Peterson

Cleon Peterson (American, b. 1973) is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice explores power and violence in today’s society. This LA-based artist’s graphic style often depicts clashing figures, capturing feelings of anger and oppression in his psycho-social landscapes. This 2019 acrylic on canvas, with the tongue-in-cheek title “A Perfect Trade,” exemplifies his practice - with an imposing figure holding the severed head of the accompanying figure.
