Blackmarket Bakery

Blackmarket Bakery is a women-owned and managed bakery with locations in Costa Mesa and San Diego, California. The bakery has a unique "Hub & Spoke" model, where its commissary kitchen in Irvine creates doughs, fillings, and retail pastries/confections, which get delivered to its 3 retail bakeries. At these locations, our bakers and pastry chefs create all breads, cakes, tarts, breakfast pastries, etc in house. This allows the bakery to have smaller kitchen footprints at its retail locations.

Blackmarket Bakery opened its first retail location in 2013 and has a long track record of profitability and growth., Owner Rachel studied baking at the CIA Greystone, in Napa Valley. All of Rachel’s children worked at the bakery in its early days, and Rachel’s husband fabricates all of the bakeries’ furniture and display fixtures as a certified welder., The business has over 600 5-Star reviews on Yelp!
